SUDEM is designed to deliver both educational and strategic results that strengthen higher education, lifelong learning, digital preparedness, and evidence-based disaster management.

1. SUDEM Foresight

A strategic foresight framework analysing major disaster types, technological trends, infrastructure risks, and the educational needs of sustainable disaster management.

2. Knowledge Transfer Model

A novel interdisciplinary educational model for higher education and lifelong learning in the field of disaster and emergency management.

3. SUDEM Curriculum

A multidisciplinary curriculum designed to support the digitalisation of the disaster lifecycle and improve disaster management preparedness.

4. Digital Learning Platform

An online learning environment that supports access to SUDEM learning resources and educational activities.

5. Quality Feedback System

A mechanism for collecting feedback and improving the quality and relevance of the curriculum and learning experience.

6. Communication, Dissemination and Policy Outputs

Scientific publications, methodological outputs, dissemination materials, and follow-up project opportunities.


Project achievements

As of the final phase of implementation, SUDEM has achieved the following:

  • completion of the SUDEM foresight work;
  • development of the SUDEM knowledge transfer model;
  • preparation of a higher education and lifelong learning curriculum with 13 courses;
  • five Q1–Q2 publications related to the project topic;
  • one book on the project topic;
  • one DSc dissertation linked to the project area;
  • online validation of the SUDEM framework, transfer model, and curriculum;
  • multiple media articles and visibility in professional social media;
  • identification of follow-up project opportunities.
